AliExpress Hidden Gems: Exploring Unique and Unusual Products (Part 12)

• 1:53 Handheld 3-in-1 Tool: A portable device that combines an oscilloscope, multimeter, and signal generator, priced at 74€. It's praised for its portability, fast and responsive interface, bright screen, and intuitive use.

  • 3:36 Oscilloscope: Handles various waveforms on two channels, with a max of 35MHz for sine waves and 15MHz for square waves. The measurement mode is not 100% precise, but considered good enough.
  • 4:28 Multimeter: Offers precise values comparable to more expensive multimeters.
  • 4:41 Signal Generator: The weakest feature, with limited voltage and frequency adjustment and a low maximum frequency.

• 5:10 Light Socket Outlet Adapter: A 2€ adapter that converts an E27 light bulb fixture into an EU socket. It's criticized for poor grip on plugs, inadequate protection against contact, and thin wires.

  • 6:48 Current Test: Surprisingly survived 16A, but got hot, and it has no official current rating.

• 7:10 ESP Home Automation Board: A 25€ relay board for home automation, compatible with HomeAssistant and other applications.

  • 7:48 Documentation: Long product description, but requires visiting the manufacturer's website for example code, firmware, and setup instructions.
  • 8:32 HomeAssistant Integration: Successfully integrated with HomeAssistant, allowing control of relay outputs and digital input states.
  • 9:12 Quality: Good board quality, with an enclosure suitable for distribution box mounting.

• 9:35 Milli Ohm Meter: A 30€ device for measuring small resistances.

  • 10:47 Usage: Requires 9V power and calibration by clipping wires together.
  • 11:15 Accuracy: Performed well in comparison to an expensive meter, with a maximum difference of around 10mΩ for common small resistor values.

• 11:37 Liquid Electrical Tape: A 2.3€ product intended for insulating exposed wires. It failed due to the content being partly hardened and unusable.

• 12:12 Belt Sander Angle Grinder Adapter: A 7€ adapter to convert an angle grinder into a belt sander. It's criticized for being difficult to attach, having quickly dulling sandpaper, and being made of easily damaged plastic.

• 13:20 Portable Digital Microscope: A 17€ microscope intended for reading small IC labels.

  • 13:59 Issues: The magnification factor is too high for easy label reading, and the device needs to be placed flat on the surface to focus, making it unsuitable for most circuit boards.

• 14:32 Verdict: The video found some useful products, particularly the 3-in-1 tool and the milli ohm meter, while others like the liquid electrical tape and belt sander adapter were deemed failures.
